Kevin Kent

Instructional Designer and Research Associate
As an Instructional Designer and Research Associate, Kevin works to design accessible educational technologies and curricula by understanding user needs and applying the latest research from the learning sciences. A former high school teacher and an individual with a reading disability, Kevin is passionate about leveraging research to help students with learning disabilities realize their potential. 
Prior to CAST, Kevin worked as a research specialist in the Science of Learning and Educational Technology (SoLET) lab at Arizona State University. In this role, he supported the classroom implementation of intelligent tutoring systems for reading and writing and contributed to a variety of research projects. From 2012-2014, Kevin worked as a high school mathematics teacher at Edcouch Elsa High School in South Texas. Kevin was also a mentor and chapter coordinator at Hobart College for Eye to Eye, a national mentoring organization for students with learning differences.
