Amy Brown is an instructional coach for the DE ACCESS Project in the Center for Disabilites Studies at the University of Delaware. The project, Adapting Curriculum & Classroom Environments for Student Success, promotes access to the general education curriculum and strives for inclusion of all students. Amy works with teachers across the state to incorporate Universal Design for Learning, write standards-based IEPs, adapt and modify curriculum and learn strategies for helping students gain access to the Common Core Standards.



Before arriving to the University of Delaware, Amy was a special education teacher for 18 years in a Delaware school District , as well as a nearby residential school. Amy taught in inclusive classrooms for most of her teaching career, but also in small group and separate settings with the hope of transitioning those student to the least restricted environment.
