Amanda Morin is a writer and expert for Understood.org. She helps to create and vet the content that Understood.org uses to educate and empower the millions of parents who have children with learning and attention issues. She is now working on the launch of parallel resources for educators. Prior to joining Understood, Amanda worked 10 years as an early childhood educator. She taught kindergarten and worked with infants, toddlers and preschoolers with disabilities. She also spent nine years as freelance education writer, working with websites and publishers specializing in education and parenting. She has written three books for F+W Media, and her other clients included Education.com, the New York Times and Circle of Moms. Amanda holds a B.S. in education from the University of Maine and has completed special education advocacy training from the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates. She lives in Maine with her husband and three children.
