I first heard about UDL in David Rose's course while doing an Ed.M. at HGSE when taking his course on the topic. After completing the masters I joined CAST and worked there as an educational software architect for 4 years. During this time I contributed to technical implementations of UDL and participated in research on the topic. This work inspired my interest in the role of emotions in learning and prepared me for my Ph.D. which I am currently working on on the analytics of emotion and cognition for self and socially regulated learning. In my current work I empower students by facilitating increased emotion awareness during computer supportive collaborative group work.
